Belize’s remote work visa for digital nomads launched in 2022
First announced in 2021, at the beginning of 2022 the Belize government announced the conditions under which foreign persons can live and work here for a determined period. The program (Work Where You Vacation) entails a remote work permit with an initial validity of 6 months for people who meet certain requirements.

Considering this a visa with a limited duration of stay, our golden visa agents can advise you on residence options for a permanent move (Belize has no citizenship by investment scheme).
Who is eligible for the Belize digital nomad visa?
Just like Belize’s residence programs (Belize has had no citizenship by investment program since 2002), the digital nomad visa also addresses people who meet certain criteria. However, these are less stringent in terms of financial requirements.
Here are the conditions to obtain a digital nomad visa here:

- you also need to have a clean criminal record no older than 6 months at the time of the application;
- you need to submit proof of minimum yearly income to support your stay here.
The Belize digital nomad visa is not only for foreign workers, you can also qualify for it if you are a freelancer or have your own company incorporated in another country.
We remind you that we are at your disposal with support if you want to relocate here on a long-term basis or if you want to buy a golden visa. Our services also extend to other countries, such as Antigua and Barbuda.
A golden visa gives investors and their families access to new markets as well as a variety of business, educational, healthcare, tax, and lifestyle options. Many golden visa countries, like Portugal in Europe (Spain abolished its golden visa on 3 April 2025) allow the successful applicant to file for citizenship after a few years of ordinary residence.
